someone from my family once told me that

"we live for and because of our love-ones, not for ourselves..."

which i find makes a great deal of sense. i also find this phrase from sir william osler particularly meaningful...

"to have striven, to have made an effort, to have been true to certain ideals - this alone is worth the struggle.we are here to add what we can to, not get what we can from, life..."

but in case you are wondering, i caught this phrase one day while i was waiting for MRT on the NEL... not adapted from some very "chim" book la... hmmm. anyway so here's the end of my first post. :) hehe
